Love 101 FM, The Family Station did it again with the first staging of their Mother’s Day Play completely sold out. The concept was initiated by Love FM’s Marketing Manager, who saw the play and believed it would be a great way to celebrate Mother’s Day. The Love 101 FM team came together to make the concept a reality and just days before the event, tickets were already sold out.
The event was sponsored by May Sparkling Fruit Juice and Sunshine Cereals who didn’t hesitate to give back to the mother’s who came to watch the play on the eve of Mother’s Day. They were happy to be apart of the initiative and their support was well received.
The Play called “Mass Mat Comes To Town” and was staged at The Little Little Theatre. It was written by Basil Dawkins, directed by E. Wayne McDonald, starring Ruth HoShing, Earl Brown and Maylene Lowe as a selfish and abusive daughter, ill-treated by a father who doubted her paternity and a mother(Ruth HoShing) who went along with the wishes of her domineering husband.
Maas Mat is an old friend who visits from the country and provides comfort and company bringing an end to the abuse, as the dust settles and it seems we would have a fairy tale ending but Maas Mat dies.
There is so much more to the Play that we can’t unravel but it was well received with abrupt sounds of laughter erupting in the theatre ever so often.
Love 101 FM believes the initiative was a success and plans are already in the pipeline for next year’s staging.
