PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising the public that paving activities will be conducted along Camp Road between Tom Redcam Road and the Scout Association of Jamaica tomorrow, Wednesday November 27 starting at 9:00 am and should continue until 6:00 pm.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the National Works Agency, Stephen Shaw, said the works are part of a major rehabilitation effort that include the relocation of the Jamaica Defence Force’s (JDF’s) Camp Road Gate and primarily focuses on intersection improvement.

He said the road rehabilitation project, which commenced earlier this year, included sewerage and pipeline works and are slated to be completed by early December.

Noting that though there are no plans to completely close the roadway during the paving works, Shaw said that based on the presence of large equipment, the movement of traffic will be impacted.

Shaw further advised the public that in order to avoid delays, motorists can use alternative routes including Marescaux Road, Heroes Circle and North and East Streets to travel to and from downtown Kingston.

NWA said the project, which is currently 85 per cent completed, is being undertaken as part of the Major Infrastructure Development Programme.
