Reports are that Turkish backed jihadist forces are continuing their assault in strategic areas of northeast Syria, despite claims of a ceasefire. The reports say attacks assisted by Turkish air and artillery threaten Christians and other religious minorities.

The Trump administration is proposing a new rule that would allow social service providers to serve people based on religion, sexual orientation and gender identity. This would apply to social service providers receiving taxpayer funding from the Department of Health and Human Services. Meanwhile, it is feared this new proposal could create a clash between those who champion exemptions for faith-based charities, and civil liberties advocates who believe religious groups receiving government funding should not exclude anyone.

Televangelist John Hagee and political commentator Mark Levin raised more than $1.35 million for Israeli and Jewish charities. This took place during a historic event at Pastor Hagee’s Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas last night. The occasion marked the first anniversary of the Tree of Life Synagogue shooting, the deadliest anti-Semitic attack on US soil. Pastor Hagee is also the founder of the 7-million member strong Christians United for Israel organization. He believes it is important for Christians to take a bold stand against anti-Semitism.

Pope Francis yesterday asked for prayer for persecuted Orthodox Christians in Ethiopia, who have been targeted in ongoing ethnic clashes that have left 78 people dead.  According to Ethiopian news sources, hand grenades were thrown into churches and the homes and businesses of Christians have been set on fire.
