Increasing evidence is being displayed on social media alongside other reports of Christians in south-eastern Syria dying and fleeing in the face of a Turkish onslaught aided by jihadist troops. It is said Turkey is trying to exterminate Christians from the region.  Many are reportedly looking to US President Trump and the Church in America for help.

Government authorities have demolished a state-registered church in China while the congregation was in the middle of a worship service. According to the report from religious freedom charity China Aid, after bulldozing the 3000 capacity building on Friday, the church’s two pastors were arrested on suspicion of gathering a crowd to disturb social order.

Pope Francis’ security arrangements leave him prone to terrorist attacks.  This is according to a leaked secret report commissioned by the Vatican. A lack of CCTV at the Pope’s residence and lax controls over people entering the Vatican City were among the findings of a team of experts from Spain’s Interior Ministry.

And a book now out, written by Italian journalist Gian-luigi Nuzzi claims the Vatican is in danger of defaulting by 2023 if something does not change soon to balance the books. Nuzzi noted that the Vatican lost nearly €44 million last year as its vast property portfolio went into the red for the first time. Nuzzi is said to have used some 3,000 confidential documents to support his claims that the Vatican is rapidly losing money.

A new study conducted in the UK by Barna Group has revealed that young adults who regularly attend church have better mental health than those who don’t. According to the data of 15,000 18-35 year olds, practising Christians have a more positive outlook on life compared with those who said they did not have a faith.
