Several hundred attendees at a recent Secure Church event near Chicago, took part in scenario-based training aimed at approaching security as a ministry. A Senior Pastor of a church in Oak Brook, Illinois noted there’s an expansion of radical ideologies, mental health struggles and even anger against people of faith. For these reasons, he advised that pastors need to be more thoughtful than ever about how they shepherd and protect those under their care.

Charity, Christian Aid has called for global legislation to protect women and girls against violence. Following high profile cases of violence against women in India, Christian Aid is urging those in power not only to punish perpetrators of violence, but also to address the structural inequalities that it says hinder the implementation of policies that would keep women and girls safe.

A new book has been created to help pass on to children the belief in the value of each human being. It’s titled,¬†Pro-Life Kids!¬†According to the author Bethany Bomberger, the book hopes to refute today’s pro-abortion establishment by explaining other times in history when the prevailing winds of culture also diminished the importance of being human.

The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Northern Ireland, Rt. Rev Dr William Henry has urged young people to vote and all church-goers to pray before they go to the polls on December 12. He said engaging and participating in the democratic process is one of the ways that Christians seek the peace and prosperity spoken of in Jeremiah 29:7.

Former Nickelodon star Kel Mitchell has shared with social media that he became a licensed pastor. Mitchell, who starred in the Kenan & Kel sitcom from 1996-2000 said he was blessed and thankful for the opportunity. According to his biography, he speaks to youth across the USA encouraging them to trust in the Lord and follow their dreams.
