Evangelical advisers to US President Donald Trump have reportedly congratulated him on the unveiling on Tuesday, of his long-awaited plan for peace between Israel and the Palestinians. The plan calls for some land swaps and a Palestinian capital in East Jerusalem. However, the World Council of Churches has urged the international community not to support a proposed plan.
Meanwhile, Palestinian leaders are allegedly urging their people to have a violent uprising in response to Mr. Trump’s Israeli-Palestinian so-called Deal of the Century. They say the plan ignores the national rights of the Palestinian people.
And ISIS announced that it has a new leader and a new mission to kill the Jews. The group released an audio recording on Monday of a spokesman for new ISIS leader Sheikh Abu Ibrahim Al-Hashemi Al-Qurashi calling on members to attack Jews and thwart the Israeli-Palestinian “Deal of the Century” peace process.
A new publication titled “Kairos for creation – Confessing hope for the earth” has been released by a group of international theological experts. The 362 page book is a documentation of the Wupper-tal conference. It offers common perspectives on how to respond theologically and politically to the global climate emergency. Reports are that Chinese authorities have put tight restrictions on Christians holding religious funerals for their loved ones. A new law came into effect last December in Ping-yang County, banning religious customs and rituals during funerals. According to the authorities, the ban aims to get rid of bad customs and establish a scientific, civilized, and economical way of conducting funerals.
