Truett Foster McKeehan, the oldest son of Christian recording artiste TobyMac, died Wednesday in Nashville, a representative for the artist confirmed early Thursday to the Tennessean. He was 21 years old.

An outpouring of support from the Christian and Nashville music communities filled social media in the aftermath of McKeehan’s death.

Christian musician Michael W. Smith, a close friend of TobyMac took to Instagram and asked the community keep his family in their prayers.

“No words to explain what I am feeling about all of this and especially for Toby and his family,” Smith wrote. “It was good to be with Toby tonight… And they would very much appreciate your prayers on every level for them in this trial of a lifetime. Thank you in advance for lifting them up before Abba Father!”

Christian entertainer Danny Gokey shared via Twitter that “I can’t imagine what it’s like to lose a child. They absolutely need our prayers.”
